Double Honours: Sandee Facy Earns Two 2026 Josie Music Awards Nominations
Chasing Clarity and “Lipstick and Boots” earn international recognition as Sandee joins the 2026 Josie Music Awards nominees in Nashville.
It’s official — Sandee Facy is a two-time nominee at the 2026 Josie Music Awards, with recognition for both her debut album Chasing Clarity and one of its standout tracks, “Lipstick and Boots”.
Sandee has been nominated for Album of the Year – Country (Female) for Chasing Clarity, while “Lipstick and Boots” has been nominated for Song of the Year – Country Female (Division A).
The achievement carries even greater significance given the sheer scale of this year’s awards. According to the Josie Music Awards, the 2026 nominees were selected from more than 101,000 submissions, placing Sandee’s music among an enormous field of independent artists and releases from around the world.
For Sandee, the double nomination provides recognition on two very different levels.
“I’m honestly still trying to take it all in. To see Chasing Clarity nominated as an album means so much to me because there is such a huge piece of my heart in those nine songs. Then to also have ‘Lipstick and Boots’ recognised in Song of the Year makes it even more special.
“Lipstick and Boots” represents an individual song — its personality, storytelling, melody and ability to connect with listeners — while the Album of the Year nomination recognises the much bigger creative statement that is Chasing Clarity.
Released in August 2025, the nine-track Chasing Clarity marked a major milestone in Sandee’s career, bringing together her country foundations with a strong rock-edged energy and an approach built around honest storytelling. The album moves between confidence and vulnerability, with songs exploring resilience, relationships, self-discovery and the experiences that have shaped Sandee both personally and creatively.
For an album created as a complete body of work, an Album of the Year nomination is particularly meaningful. It recognises more than a single recording. It represents the writing, performances, musicianship, production, countless decisions and creative vision required to take a collection of songs from their beginnings and turn them into a finished album.
That makes the recognition of Chasing Clarity especially fitting.
Described on Sandee’s official website as an album combining “Nashville grit” with “Aussie heart”, the record reflects the unique perspective she has developed as an American-born artist who has made Australia home. Across its nine tracks, Sandee balances the fun and fearless side of country music with more introspective moments, creating an album that feels personal without losing its sense of energy.
Then there is “Lipstick and Boots”.
A track that captures so much of Sandee’s personality as an artist, the song has earned its own place among the Josie nominees in the highly competitive Song of the Year – Country Female category. Its nomination means Sandee will head into the awards with recognition not only for the broader Chasing Clarity project, but for an individual song that has helped define this chapter of her music.
For an independent artist building a career thousands of kilometres from Nashville, being recognised on an international stage is also another important step forward.

The organisation describes its mission as honouring and rewarding excellence, talent and creativity across independent music, with submissions reviewed by an industry panel.
